Many times when I talk to people here in Florida, they comment on missing the change of seasons. Usually, that refers to the change of colors in the Fall. Well, while Florida's seasons are not quite as distinct as those that can be experienced in the northern states that can show off splendid and brilliant fall colors, a change of colors can still be experienced here as well.
After having lived here for a while, I've started to pay attention to the subtle changes that start taking place in late September and continue throughout the winter months. Sometimes, you can watch the same tree go through a transformation of changing colors much as you would up North, sometimes the change takes place as a change of overall mood than a spectacular explosion of color.
Take a tour with me and enjoy!
This tree in my neighborhood puts on showy yellow leaves around its small flowers. A few weeks later, it'll turn into a showy red color before taking on an orange tone.
Brilliant Reflections on a clear day!
I encourage to look for these changes throughout your neighborhood. You may not see too many big trees or a whole forest turn color but you will see changes in the certain spots, even in the vines!

You certainly have some beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Wow Florida does have some beautiful colors. I especially like the third picture, with the tree reflecting in the water.
I enjoy the same photo in different seasons. We have color change but then the show and winter comes and we migrate do to see you.
You captured some magnificent photos, I LOVED the reflections! And miss the warmth and sunshine!
Thank you for the falll color education... but I still love the fall colors we get up north.. I just hate having to rake the leaves when it is all over!
Beautiful pictures! I do love our seasonal change up here in New England but because I lived in Texas also for many years, I also miss the south and the year round warmth from the sun. Both areas have their positive points! We might have a beautiful fall season up here, but you don't want to be here in February when it is 20 below and the snow is up to your armpits.
I have been keeping my camera handy to snap beautiful colors when I am out. Trouble is being able to pull off the side of the road and not stop traffic! That's not safe. Colors like you have only come out once a year!

Florida is petty, but the fall colors of my birthplace, Michigan, rock! It's too cold though, so Florida is it and photos of Michigan will be fine.
Wow ... you have a true gift of capturing the beauty. Fall is a great time of year for the explosion of colors. I can hardly wait for the spring with the explosiion of flowers!
Lovely photos -- thanks for posting. All the best to you in your market.
Thank you so much everyone for your comments! I've lived in colder climates myself including New England on two occasions and yes, it's magnificient, I truly loved it! Like I said, here it's a lot more subtle, you have to look for the color so not to miss it! Glad you enjoy these photos!
who knew Florida had " fall colors" I would not have thunk it...
How lovely! Somehow, I didn't associate Florida with "seasons" -- I live in the Pacific Northwest Coast area, and it definitely has a "fall flavour" that is distinct.
Silvia Tose are both beautiful colors as well as a great presentation - well done, Karen
Beautiful colors of the photos you have taken. I love the one with the tree reflecting in the water - it looks like a mirrow.
Florida seasons are subtle (except summer. Summer is not subtle!), but our winter is like the best of northern weather - for 6 months! And we do get to rake leaves. Our trees drop their leaves in the winter, so we're raking in January and February. One of my favorite color changes here is when the new spring leaves come in alongside the last year's leaves. They are a fresh, lovely yellow green next to the gray-green of the old leaves. Very pretty, in an understated way.
Well you just lost me if you think that "even poison ivy has its charm." No, no, no, no, no. LOL
Hi Jim! In this case, it's better to "look but don't touch"! :-)
Silvia, this is a big surprise. I had no idea that Florida had Fall colors on the trees. My parents live in Boca Raton and I don't ever recall seeing such beautiful foliage down there in the Autumn.
Hi Brian, Boca Raton is much farther South from here so the climate is quite a bit more tropical. If you've ever driven the length of Florida, you realize how long this State really is. It can get quite cold in the northern parts. I live in the central parts and it's somewhat moderate but even here, we get one or two night freezes a year. Glad you enjoyed the photos!
Nice pictures. I really like that orange tree reflected in the lake. Makes me want to jump right in or climb right up, either one.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos. I always love this time of the year when the leaves are turning. I've been living in Florida for over 35 years and love it too!
Your photos are breathtaking!!
