Real Estate Photography - Interiors

Just as an appealing exterior photo will peak a prospective buyers interest, good interior photos will keep and strenghten their desire so that they will want to make an actual showing appointment to see the home in person. '

There are a few things I consider when taking interior photos. The most important one for each room is  a focal point and the best angle or perspective to show off the room's strenghts.

In the example below, the family room of this Spring Hill, Florida home featured some beautiful windows located high up the exterior wall filling the entire room with daylight.  The home had many more great features and this room was one of the major ones.

Are there things in the room that could have been improved prior to the photo shoot? Certainly. Good suggestions would be to remove the half dead plant next to the TV and  the electrical cables from behind the TV.  However, these issues did not destract from the overall intent of conveying the feeling of space.

This Spring Hill, Florida home has since sold.  If you are interested in Florida living and would like to find out about other Spring Hill, Florida  homes that are available for sale or  if you would like to know more information about marketing your Spring Hill home for sale, I invite you to contact me by phone at 352-584-7441 or email

Silvia that is a beautiful shot.  Everything in the room just seem to pop out of the picture.

It has a very bright and light open feeling, Silvia. Many buyers are looking for just that.

Silvia Dukes PA, Broker Associate, CRS, CIPS, SRES - This is a beautiful interior shot! It shows how bright and clean it is. I believe many buyers would love to live there too.

Hi Silvia --- I think most buyers(at least mine) apprecaite high ceilings and lots of "light" --- the photo of this home definitely captures that.  Nice job.

Lighting is one fo the biggest issues for interior photo's.   Get it wrong and you will sit with the listing

I love how much light the room has! So many windows make the shot more difficult, but you nailed it:)

Debbie Reynolds yes, and often people moving here from northern states are amazed at how open many of our homes are.

Patricia Feager thank you, much appreciated.

Michael Jacobs thank you, the room had a fire place on the opposite end but I felt the openness was the main feature of this space.

Lou Ludwig you are so right, photos often say more than words and in a shorter time frame.

William Feela very true, dark homes are a real challenge unless you can bring additional lighting and then the question arises whether the photos still represent a true picture of the home.

Inna Ivchenko thank you so much!

The picture captures the tall ceilings well as well as the light that comes into the room.

Hi Sylvia - I think my favorite thing about that photo is the light - your use of it is very appealing. Thanks for another contest entry!
