Real Estate Photography - Capturing the Mood
Real estate photography should highlight the property, whether it is a home, condo, duplex, or even raw land. Therefore, the subject property will dictate to an extent what pictures need to be taken. Most photos will concentrate on interiors and features to show potential home buyers what the home looks like on the inside. Ideally, photos should also convey a sense of layout.
Another important aspect of real estate photography is capturing the mood by taking advantage of exterior features and geographical orientation such as the direction someone will look to from a back or front yard.
In this example of a waterfront home located in Hernando Beach, Florida, the backyard has a view of intersecting canals looking toward the West.
Expansive waterfront views as seen here can be found throughout the Hernando Beach community. They beautiful during day time and they often are nothing short of spectacular during dawn and dusk just like this sunset view.
Conveying a mood or the feel of a home and its surroundings are just as important in marketing a home as are photos of the actual property interior or exterior.
I shot the above sunset photo earlier this year for a property that I had been hired to market for sale. Every sunset is different! This is one of the sunsets that I had captured and used as a featured listing photo.
And it was one of the photos that received the most attention from viewers and even prompted showings during the sunset hours so buyers could experience the mood first hand.
This Hernando Beach waterfront home with stunning water views and beautiful sunsets has since sold.
