Time Change Blues!

Time Change Blues!

Yesterday's time change back to "normal" gave us back the one hour we had to give up in the Spring to "save daylight."

I really enjoyed my "extra" hour yesterday and it seemed the day went on forever.  What I don't like is that it's getting dark at 6 pm now.

Nevertheless, it was a beautiful evening for a walk.  Enjoy the evening sky across the wetlands in Hernando Beach, Florida.

It is pitch black here and raining. :( The weather has been gray the last few days and with the time change, both mornings and evenings have been gloomy. Tomorrows forecast is sunny, I believe. It will be a welcome change.

Silvia it is even more depressing that before long it will be dark by 4:30 (:

OMG I can't believe how early it got dark. I'm not liking it.  It makes it more difficult for my evening appts...I had trouble seeing the numbers on mailboxes.

Pat Starnes at least it's nice and sunny here during the day. Sun just goes down too early!

Hannah Williams not me, I got up early and got all, kind of things done.  Amazing what an extra hour can do.

George Souto not looking forward to that!

Debbie Gartner I don't like it neither.  Somehow it seems extra dark, no more late appointments for me if I can help it,

I don't know why but it didn't bother me at all.  Of course I keep screwy hours all the time.

Yeah, I have the blues too. Yucky dark evenings. I wish it would leave it all year.

Silvia

When I left the office tonight it was dark . . . . I would prefer to drive home when it's light.

Good luck and success.

Silvia - We don't recognize the time change here in Arizona, so it is getting dark here around 5:30pm now.

Hi Silvia many people are against Daylight Savings Time. Is it really necessary?

We are now getting dark round 5:15 to 5:30. I don't like that so much.

I love that extra hour of sleep that comes with the time change, but generally loath the dark evenings.  However, this time it seems a little easier.

I don't love short days.  But in about 6 more weeks they will start to get longer. I was late this morning (not for an appointment, but just getting to work) because the time change justs throws me off my game.

Hi, Silvia...that is an amazing picture.

I didn't sleep very well last night. I don't know if it was the time change or the excitement from the Broncos/Packers game that caused me trouble.

Good morning Silvia. We'll get used to the change very quickly, I still enjoy each sunrise and sunset just the same.

It is getting dark in the afternoons at 5pm here. I don't like that at all but do like seeing the sunshine in the mornings.

Silvia, i do not like the early dark either. It certainly is not as dark now obviously when I go to workout at 6:20 AM and that is a positive.. time chamge has plus and minus aspects..

Silvia, I do not like that it gets dark earlier, but do like having my extra hour back.

William Feela the time change actually causes me to wake up and get up earlier. I just don't like it to be dark this early.

Karen Fiddler, Broker/Owner  I guess we get to enjoy the sunset sooner this way! :-)

Lou Ludwig  I don't enjoy driving in the darker neither.

Troy Erickson you are lucky that you don't have to lose that one hour in the Spring.. it takes me weeks to catch up.

Noah Seidenberg I don't think so. I don't get where there is anything saved. You either turn the lights on earlier in the morning or in the afternoon. Same difference.

Evelyn Johnston It sure makes for very short days!

Posted by Silvia Dukes PA, Broker Associate, CRS, CIPS, SRES, Florida Waterfront and Country Club Living (Tropic Shores Realty - Ich spreche Deutsch!) over 4 years ago

Myrl Jeffcoat I actually go to bed a little earlier now and still get up early because my body hasn't adjusted yet.  I got a lot of stuff done the day we changed the time because I got up as usual.

Tammy Lankford  I haven't met anyone yet who loves these shorter days. I can't wait until they start getting longer again.

Debbie Laity  thank you. Maybe it was the game that kept you awake!

Joe Petrowsky I guess we have to take it as it comes. The sun will rise and set on its own schedule.

Debbie Reynolds The funny thing is that I haven't really noticed a big difference in the mornings. I tend to stay outside longer in the afternoon or evening rather than going out before daylight.

Robert (Bob) Gilbert I think as Fall and Winter progress, it'll stay darker in the mornings longer as well.

Rebecca Gaujot, the Go To Realtor® Yes, I don't like it when they take that hour in the Spring so I thoroughly enjoy it when we get it back in the Fall!

Silvia, it has been a tough week to get back to normal.   Monday was up at 4:15, and not much better until this morning!

Posted by Joan Cox, Denver Real Estate - Selling One Home at a Time (House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373) over 4 years ago

Endre Barath, Jr. I agree, I think they should just leave it alone. I think Hawaii doesn't participate neither.

Joan Cox that's me, I got up at 6 am this morning whennit was still pitch dark. All   summer long I didn't get up before it was light out.
